Concept Idea Pitching Project SDG 7 Management

Concept Idea Pitching Project SDG 7 Management

Sustainable development, guided by the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), is a globally recognised framework for action. In particular, Goal 7: Ensure access to affordable, reliable, sustainable, and modern energy for all is directly linked to the quality of life, economic growth, and environmental well-being of societies worldwide.

To support the achievement of this goal, the Faculty of Informatics, Burapha University, organised the Concept Idea Pitching on SDG 7 Management activity. The event provided a platform for students from various institutions and disciplines to exchange knowledge and present innovative ideas on clean energy and efficient energy management.

The program also offered opportunities for students to demonstrate their analytical abilities, systems thinking, creative idea development, academic presentation, and systematic project management skills. Its ultimate aim was to inspire innovative thinking, foster awareness of sustainable development, and prepare students to become responsible and capable global citizens.

Project Coordinator:

1) Asst. Prof. Komate Amphawan

2) Ms.Khulchalee Rattanakorn

3) Ms.Kamonwan Sangrawee

4) Mr.Kornsahanan Torpongpan

Objectives:

1) To enhance students’ knowledge and understanding of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), particularly Goal 7 on Access to Sustainable Energy.

2) To allow students to practice their analytical thinking skills and creative design approaches to solving energy-related problems.

3) To develop communication, presentation, and teamwork skills.

4) To promote student participation in driving energy and sustainability issues in the global society and economic context.

5) To prepare students to apply their knowledge of information technology to design approaches or projects that can concretely respond to the Sustainable Development Goals.

Program Activities:

The Faculty of Informatics, Burapha University, announced the call for applications and invited students to participate in the activity in a team format (2–5 members per team). Each team was tasked with analysing and designing systematic and creative approaches to address energy-related challenges, linking their ideas to the broader context of society and technology. The teams presented their innovative concepts on clean energy management through pitching sessions within the allotted time. The competition concluded with the announcement of results and an award ceremony, where the top five teams with the highest scores received cash prizes and certificates of recognition.

Expected Outcomes (Impacts):

This project received strong interest and participation from various institutions, including the Faculty of Informatics, the Faculty of Business Administration, and the Faculty of Nursing of Burapha University, as well as Rajamangala University of Technology Tawan-ok (Chakrabongse Bhuvanarth Campus) and King Mongkut’s University of Technology North Bangkok, Rayong Campus. Such collaboration reflects integrating knowledge and establishing networks for clean energy cooperation among higher education institutions in the Eastern region. The Concept Idea Pitching on the SDG 7 Management project successfully created a learning platform for students to develop their Knowledge, Skills, and Attitudes (KSAs) related to sustainable development. It also fostered youth to become a driving force in advancing Thai society and the global community toward achieving SDG 7. The initiative generated prototype works and innovative concepts that hold potential for further development into future research projects or practical initiatives.
