BUU Computer Center Advances Cybersecurity Skills through Secure Coding Training in Alignment with the SDGs

The Computer Center of Burapha University organized a hands-on training program entitled “Information System Security Management” on Thursday, May 29, 2025. The program aimed to enhance the knowledge and skills of the university’s personnel across the System Development Division, Infrastructure Division, and Instructional Innovation Division, with a particular focus on strengthening understanding of Secure Coding practices and the application of SonarQube for code inspection and analysis to improve both security and quality.

The training was honored to have Mr. Kanit Thura, Computer Technical Officer (Professional Level) of the Computer Center, as the resource speaker. His sessions emphasized foundational concepts of Secure Coding alongside practical exercises using SonarQube, an effective tool for analyzing, monitoring, and assessing risks in source code. Participants had the opportunity to apply these practices directly by testing and troubleshooting with real system codes.

As a result, participants gained comprehensive knowledge and a deeper understanding of secure source code development. They can now effectively apply Secure Coding principles to real-world system development and use SonarQube accurately for analyzing and assessing source code risks. This enhances system quality, strengthens security, and reduces potential vulnerabilities to future cyberattacks.

This initiative aligns with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), particularly Goal 4: Ensure inclusive and equitable quality education and promote lifelong learning opportunities for all. The program fostered digital literacy, provided participants with practical IT skills, and enabled them to utilize SonarQube effectively for real-code analysis and secure code improvement.

The training reflects the Computer Center’s strong commitment to developing personnel competencies, promoting continuous learning in technology, and advancing the university’s mission toward achieving sustainable development across all dimensions.
