GEARSBUU CWIE DAY 2025 (Academic Year 2025)

GEARSBUU CWIE DAY 2025 (Academic Year 2025)

Cooperative and Work-Integrated Education (CWIE) is a key mechanism for developing graduates whose competencies align with labour market needs amid rapid technological change. GEARSBUU CWIE DAY 2025 was organised as a platform for students to share CWIE experiences across cohorts—enhancing experiential learning, inspiring professional growth, and strengthening learning through real workplace contexts.
The initiative also supports quality improvement in engineering education and deepens strategic collaboration between the Faculty of Engineering and industry partners, particularly within the Eastern Economic Corridor (EEC).

Project Coordinator: Assoc. Prof. Sanchai Eardprab, PhD.

Objectives:

  • To enhance the quality of CWIE project presentations through innovation aligned with industry needs
  • To promote experiential learning and the sharing of CWIE best practices
  • To inspire students to recognise the value of professional development through real work experience
  • To strengthen collaboration networks between the Faculty of Engineering and industry partners

Program Activities:

The Faculty promoted the event and selected outstanding CWIE projects from all disciplines. Students presented their work through oral presentations, evaluated by expert panels. The program included experience-sharing sessions from CWIE interns, award selection for excellent projects, dissemination through Faculty media, and the development of a CWIE project database to expand learning and future applications.

Expected Outcomes (Impacts):

GEARSBUU CWIE DAY 2025 produced tangible positive impacts for learners, the university, and industry partners. For students, it strengthened professional competency, communication, presentation, and analytical thinking through real-world workplace experiences—building clarity about CWIE processes and boosting confidence in becoming professional engineers.
For education management, it advanced CWIE quality and strengthened experiential learning and lifelong learning approaches. The selected CWIE projects serve as best-practice models for curriculum and activity improvement, while the CWIE project database supports future academic and applied extensions.
For industry collaboration, the initiative reinforced strategic relationships, enabling knowledge exchange on workforce skill needs and technology trends—supporting high-quality talent development aligned with EEC demand. These outcomes clearly reflect the university’s role in advancing sustainable development in education and human capital under SDG 4 (Quality Education).
