BUU Summer Cultural Camp 2025

BUU Summer Cultural Camp 2025

The Global Relations Center organized the BUU Summer Cultural Camp for Fiscal Year 2025 from 22–30 June 2025. The camp was held to promote and encourage international mobility, while fostering an international atmosphere within the university. Moreover, it reflects Burapha University’s active role as a member of the ASEAN University Network (AUN) by driving international activities among member universities, thereby strengthening the network, enhancing relations with partner institutions abroad, and supporting the development of global student networks. The camp also provided opportunities for Burapha University students to exchange knowledge, culture, and experiences of living in a multicultural society. At the same time, it contributed to advancing the university’s commitment to the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) by supporting participants from low-income countries (Lao PDR, Cambodia, and Myanmar) to join international academic and cultural learning activities.

The BUU Summer Cultural Camp 2025 welcomed a total of 40 participants, consisting of 21 students from Burapha University and 19 students from AUN+3 partner universities, representing the following institutions:

  1. National University of Laos, Lao PDR – 1 participant
  2. Universitas Airlangga, Indonesia – 2 participants
  3. Royal University of Phnom Penh, Cambodia – 2 participants
  4. Universiti Malaya, Malaysia – 1 participant
  5. Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia, Malaysia – 2 participants
  6. Universiti Putra Malaysia, Malaysia – 2 participants
  7. Vietnam National University Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam – 2 participants
  8. Okayama University, Japan – 2 participants
  9. Kanazawa University, Japan – 2 participants
  10. Kumamoto University, Japan – 1 participant
  11. Guangxi University, China – 2 participants

The camp played an important role in promoting inclusive and equitable education (SDG 4: Quality Education) by enabling participants to strengthen essential skills, including language proficiency, intercultural communication, and international collaboration—skills that are increasingly vital in today’s global society.

In addition, the program fostered equal opportunities (SDG 10: Reduced Inequalities) by supporting students and academic staff from low-income countries such as Lao PDR, Cambodia, and Myanmar to showcase their potential and learn alongside international peers, thereby reducing educational disparities and promoting youth development across the region.

From the perspective of building peaceful and inclusive societies (SDG 16: Peace, Justice and Strong Institutions), the camp encouraged mutual understanding and respect for cultural diversity, inspiring participants to embrace peaceful coexistence in multicultural communities.

Most importantly, the BUU Summer Cultural Camp highlighted Burapha University’s role in strengthening international partnerships (SDG 17: Partnerships for the Goals), both within the AUN network and with other partner institutions worldwide. These efforts not only expand academic and cultural collaboration but also reinforce long-term international relations.
