GSB Step & Boost Up 2025 – Eastern Region Business Plan Competition

GSB Step & Boost Up 2025 – Eastern Region Business Plan Competition

The Eastern Science and Technology Park, Burapha University (EASTPARK), in collaboration with King Mongkut’s University of Technology Thonburi (KMUTT) and the Government Savings Bank (GSB), organised the GSB Step & Boost Up 2025 Business Plan Competition on July 30, 2025, at the International Business Finance and Investment Learning Center, Burapha University.

This activity served as a platform for young entrepreneurs in the Eastern region to present innovative business ideas and plans. Out of 33 applicants, 10 participants were selected, showcasing a diverse range of projects, such as:

  • Fabric softener designed to reduce pet hair adhesion

  • Skincare products derived from durian flowers

  • Agarwood oil

  • Vegan leather made from cocoa husks

  • Seabass biscuits

  • Automated lawn mowing technology

  • Dietary supplements made from grasshoppers

  • Construction materials from Micro-Precast technology

  • Date-based beverages under the “BUZZ” brand

  • Herbal massage gel

These 10 entrepreneurs will proceed to Step 3: Biz Clinic, where they will receive in-depth mentorship and business consultation to further refine their ideas and strategies before advancing to the regional-level competition.

The competition provided opportunities for entrepreneurs to present innovative products—such as durian flower skincare, cocoa husk-based vegan leather, insect-based supplements, and automation technology—and created a learning process that strengthened business capacity and skills. Through business presentations, knowledge sharing, and expert consultations, participants were empowered to transform their concepts into viable commercial ventures.

This initiative is vital in nurturing a new generation of entrepreneurs driven by innovation while promoting sustainable regional economic growth. It also reflects the principle of responsible and resource-efficient production, particularly through the transformation of agricultural by-products into value-added materials, in line with sustainable consumption and production practices. Moreover, the program exemplifies genuine collaboration between universities, the financial sector, and entrepreneurs, working together to enhance the innovation ecosystem within society.

Overall, the GSB Step & Boost Up 2025 project not only encourages learning and inspires entrepreneurs but also contributes directly to the achievement of the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) by promoting economic resilience, developing human capacity, fostering socially responsive innovations, and strengthening collaborative networks—paving the way toward sustainable development.
