On 24 June 2026, the Eastern Science Park (EASTPARK), Burapha University, in collaboration with the Research and Innovation Administration Division and the Faculty of Allied Health Sciences, organised the “Research to Revenue: IP Showcase & Business Matching” event on the 2nd Floor of the Burapha Novavidh Business Building, Burapha University. The event was designed to bridge the gap between academic research and the business sector by promoting the commercialisation of research outputs and intellectual property (IP), creating opportunities for innovation-driven economic development.
The event was honoured by the presence of distinguished university executives. Dr. Thanongsak Thepsonthi, Director of the Eastern Science Park (EASTPARK), delivered the welcome remarks to participants. Dr. Waranurin Yisarakun, Dean of the Faculty of Allied Health Sciences, introduced the objectives and overall vision of the project, while Associate Professor Dr. Niramol Thammaviriyasati, Vice President for Research and Innovation, officially opened the event and highlighted the importance of translating university research into practical business applications that generate social and economic impact.
A key highlight of the event was the exhibition of more than 51 research projects and intellectual property assets with strong commercial potential. The showcased innovations covered a wide range of fields, including healthcare, medical sciences, food innovation, herbal products, and advanced technologies. These research outputs demonstrated the university’s commitment to transforming scientific knowledge into practical solutions that address industry needs and improve people’s quality of life.
The Business Matching sessions provided valuable opportunities for entrepreneurs, investors, industry representatives, and researchers to engage in direct discussions, explore technology transfer opportunities, and identify potential collaborations. These interactions are expected to facilitate the commercialisation of university research, inspire the co-development of innovative products and services, and establish long-term partnerships between academia and industry.
In addition to the exhibition, participants attended a special lecture entitled “Genetics and Health Technologies”, delivered by Assistant Professor Dr. Kanokporn Srisujaritphanich, Associate Dean for Administration of the Faculty of Allied Health Sciences. The session highlighted emerging trends in genetics and health technologies and their applications in future healthcare innovation.
The program also featured a special interview session on “Commercializing Intellectual Property: Transforming IP into Business Value”, presented by Assistant Professor Dr. Marut Tangwattanachuleeporn, Vice President for Academic Services and Sustainable Development. The discussion emphasized the importance of effective intellectual property management, technology transfer, and commercialization strategies in maximizing the societal and economic value of university research.
The event attracted broad participation from entrepreneurs, investors, researchers, students, and partner organisations, reflecting the growing demand from the private sector for access to university-generated knowledge, technologies, and intellectual property. At the same time, researchers gained valuable insights into market demands and industrial challenges, enabling them to develop research that is more responsive to real-world needs and capable of generating tangible economic impact.
Beyond facilitating knowledge exchange, the event successfully strengthened collaboration between academia and industry, reinforcing Burapha University’s role as a key driver of Thailand’s innovation ecosystem. By promoting the commercialisation of intellectual property and encouraging cross-sector partnerships, the university continues to enhance the value of its research while supporting the country’s transition toward a knowledge-based, innovation-driven economy.
This initiative directly contributes to the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). It advances SDG 9: Industry, Innovation and Infrastructure by fostering innovation, technology transfer, and research commercialization. It supports SDG 17: Partnerships for the Goals by strengthening collaboration among universities, businesses, investors, and research networks to accelerate innovation.
