As a supporting unit, the Office of the Director, Computer Center, Burapha University, recognises the importance of sustainable resource and environmental management. A recycled bottle bank has been established as a key initiative to promote waste separation and recycling, which are fundamental in resource management and reducing environmental impacts. This activity will help improve the quality of life within the Computer Center, create orderliness, reduce pollution, and promote the organisation’s image as socially and environmentally responsible. It also aligns with being a pleasant and environmentally friendly organisation (Green Office) under the Green University framework.
Project Coordinator: Office of the Director, Computer Center
Objectives:
- To promote effective management of recyclable waste
- To reduce the amount of plastic bottles in the office
- To raise awareness and encourage participation of staff in sustainable waste management
- To support the policy of becoming an environmentally friendly organisation
Program Activities:
- Promote staff awareness of the Waste Separation for Green Office Project.
- Establish collection points for plastic bottles.
- Set exchange rates and management systems.
- Collect plastic bottles every Friday from 3:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m.
- Sell collected plastic bottles to recycling shops.
- Conduct a satisfaction survey regarding the activity.
Expected Outcomes (Impacts):
- Reduction of plastic bottle waste in the office.
- Increased knowledge and awareness among staff about waste separation.
- Staff generate income from selling recycled plastic bottles.
Additionally, the project contributes to creating a pleasant and environmentally friendly organisation (Green Office), enhancing the quality of life within the Computer Center, maintaining order, reducing pollution, and strengthening the organisation’s image as socially and environmentally responsible. Ultimately, this will lead to genuine sustainable development per the Green University initiative.
