The Global Relations Center (GRC), Burapha University, implemented the Student Support Project for Participation in AUN Summer Camp 2026 from 16 February to 31 October 2026. The project provided undergraduate students with opportunities to participate in academic and cultural activities hosted by member universities of the ASEAN University Network (AUN), fostering international learning, intercultural exchange, and global networking.
In 2026, Burapha University supported 13 students to participate in four AUN Summer Camp programmes hosted by four AUN member universities across three countries. The participating institutions included Nanyang Technological University (NTU), Singapore, with one student; Universiti Brunei Darussalam (UBD), Brunei Darussalam, with three students; National University of Singapore (NUS), Singapore, with seven students; and Vietnam National University, Ho Chi Minh City (VNUHCM), Viet Nam, with two students.
Through these programmes, students gained valuable learning experiences beyond the classroom through academic activities, collaborative learning, cultural exchange, and interaction with students from different countries and backgrounds. The experience helped strengthen essential skills for global citizenship, including communication, teamwork, leadership, adaptability, and the ability to live and work in multicultural environments. Students also had opportunities to explore global issues from diverse perspectives, covering political, economic, social, cultural, and environmental dimensions.
The project also contributes to creating more equitable access to international learning opportunities. By providing financial support for participation, Burapha University helped reduce financial barriers for capable and motivated students who may otherwise have limited access to overseas academic experiences. This initiative contributes to Sustainable Development Goal 1 (SDG 1: No Poverty) by supporting opportunities for students facing financial constraints. At the same time, the sustainability-focused themes and activities of the AUN Summer Camp programmes enhanced students’ awareness and understanding of global sustainability challenges, encouraging them to become change agents who can contribute to sustainable development within the university and wider society.
Participation in AUN Summer Camp 2026 also reflects Burapha University’s active role as a member of the ASEAN University Network. By sending students to academic activities hosted by AUN member universities, the University contributes to strengthening regional academic networks and fostering closer relationships among higher education institutions across ASEAN. At the same time, participating students serve as representatives of Burapha University, sharing their experiences, perspectives, and university identity on the international stage.
The project therefore serves as an important mechanism for developing students’ academic, interpersonal, and intercultural competencies while strengthening international partnerships and advancing the University’s commitment to sustainable development. It also supports Burapha University’s internationalisation efforts and contributes to its performance in global university rankings, including the THE World University Rankings, QS World University Rankings, and THE Impact Rankings.
