The THAI HUSO GREEN MISSION 2025 project was initiated by the Thai Language Program under the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences, Burapha University, with the aim of promoting student development through experiential learning outside the classroom. In the 21st century, higher education students are required to acquire diverse skills—not only in creativity and entrepreneurship but also in social and environmental awareness. This project was therefore designed to encourage students to integrate knowledge of Thai language and culture with sustainability concepts, fostering learning through hands-on activities.
The initiative aligns with the University’s Platform 3: Sustainable Society Development, which positions the institution as a center of learning and a driver of green society. It directly contributes to the University’s KPI C30.1: “Number of activities/projects related to Green University initiatives.” Furthermore, the project is consistent with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), particularly Goal 13: Climate Action, which calls for urgent responses to climate change and its impacts through actions such as reducing excessive resource consumption, promoting environmental education, and cultivating environmental consciousness.
At the faculty level, the project also supports Platform 1: HUSO Smart Education, specifically Target S4, which emphasises equipping students with competencies and essential 21st-century skills. These include entrepreneurship, analytical thinking, effective communication, and the ability to work collaboratively.
