This collaboration between the Faculty of Gems, Burapha University, Chanthaburi Campus, and the Thai Gem and Jewellery Traders Association (TGJTA) aims to drive Thailand’s gem and jewellery industry toward sustainable growth. The activity focuses on integrating academic knowledge with practical experience to develop human resources that meet modern market demands. Beyond developing short-term curricula, this initiative creates a concrete bridge between students and the business sector. It serves as a vital mechanism for elevating standards in production and trade, ultimately strengthening Thailand’s competitive edge and its entire gem and jewellery supply chain.

Objectives:
This activity focuses on enhancing human resource potential by integrating academic knowledge with practical industry application through short-term curricula. Ultimately, the objective is to bridge the gap between education and the private sector, elevating national standards to ensure Thailand’s global competitiveness in the gem and jewelry industry.
Program Activities:
The activity is executed through strategic consultations with TGJTA member entrepreneurs to align academic programs with industry needs. These discussions focus on joint research, professional human resource development, and the creation of specialised short-term curricula. By engaging directly with the private sector, the initiative establishes a practical framework for knowledge exchange and professional training within the gem and jewellery industry.
Expected Outcomes (Impacts):
The activity generates a significant impact by aligning with SDG 4 (Quality Education), SDG 8 (Decent Work and Economic Growth), and SDG 12 (Responsible Consumption and Production). Through integrated curricula and industry partnerships, it provides high-quality learning opportunities that enhance workforce productivity and professional employment. Furthermore, by fostering research and standardised practices, the initiative promotes the responsible management of resources, ultimately strengthening Thailand’s global competitiveness in the gem and jewellery value chain.
