Project Outcome Report: “Fulfilling Dreams, Sharing Happiness from Brothers to Sisters”

Project Outcome Report: “Fulfilling Dreams, Sharing Happiness from Brothers to Sisters”

The project titled “Fulfilling Dreams, Sharing Happiness from Brothers to Sisters” successfully integrated children’s rights principles to cultivate a sustainable and supportive school environment. Third-year Early Childhood Education students led this initiative from the Faculty of Education at Burapha University during the 2025 academic year. The project was implemented at Ban Na Lom School in Ban Dong District, Chat Trakan District, Phitsanulok Province, from November 21 to 24, 2025. Recognising the challenges posed by social diversity and inequality in Thailand, which have left many children without access to supportive learning and living environments, the students applied the knowledge they gained from the course “Campaign to Protect the Rights and Welfare of Children.” Their approach was grounded in the four fundamental children’s rights: the right to survival, protection, development, and participation.

Project Coordinator: Asst. Prof. Dr Chaweng Sonboon

Objectives:

The project concentrated on transforming the school environment, considered a “second home” for children, to foster holistic development across four domains: physical, emotional-mental, social, and intellectual. Major initiatives included:

  1. Classroom Environment: Designing varied experiential learning corners such as art, reading, role play, and block-building zones.
  2. Outdoor Environment Enhancement: Improving safety and aesthetics through upgrades like painting the volleyball and BBL courts.
  3. Educational Outreach: Conducting sessions to promote understanding and effective use of experiential zones aligned with children’s developmental needs.

Program Activities:

Third-year students majoring in Early Childhood Education. They contacted Ban Na Lom School to obtain permission to enhance the school environment and to promote the project to stakeholders both within and outside the university. The goal was to solicit donations and collect essential items to support the development and improvement of the school environment, particularly resources necessary for early childhood education, such as storybooks, art supplies, and other materials. Upon receiving the donated items, the team proceeded to the school to implement the following initiatives:

  1. Creation of experiential and landscaped learning corners within a kindergarten classroom. 2. Development of a new Build-Block-Learn (BBL) outdoor learning yard.
  2. Repainting of the volleyball court to enhance its appearance and usability.
  3. Renovation of the school fence, covering an area of 160 square meters.

Expected Outcomes (Impacts):

  1. Participating students deepened their understanding of children’s rights, preparing them for future roles as early childhood educators.
  2. The project fostered greater involvement from educational institutions and local communities in campaigns promoting children’s rights.
  3. It raised public awareness of the expertise, knowledge, and holistic competencies of Early Childhood Education students at the Faculty of Education, Burapha University.

Date of Implementation: November 21 to 24, 2025
