In today’s digital era, artificial intelligence (AI) plays an increasingly vital role in creative work across all fields. Among emerging tools, Recraft.ai has gained popularity for its ability to generate high-quality illustrations, graphics, and diverse digital media. At the same time, Adobe Illustrator remains the global standard for professional graphic design and editing. The integration of AI tools with advanced design software has therefore become an essential skill, enabling learners to create high-quality and visually appealing works that align with the demands of the modern digital workforce.
The development of the online course “Creating Images with Recraft.ai and Enhancing with Adobe Illustrator” in the form of a Massive Open Online Course (MOOC) is highly significant. It provides open access to digital design knowledge and emerging technologies for students, staff, and the general public, without restrictions of time or location. The initiative not only promotes lifelong learning but also strengthens digital skills in line with the country’s direction toward a digital economy and innovation-driven development.
Furthermore, the project enhances learners’ capabilities in producing practical outcomes applicable to academic, business, and creative industries. It also strengthens the university’s image as a leader in educational innovation while aligning with Sustainable Development Goal 4 (SDG 4): Ensure inclusive and equitable quality education and promote lifelong learning opportunities for all.
Objectives
Learners will be able to explain the usage of Recraft.ai.
Learners will be able to generate images using Recraft.ai tools.
Learners will be able to explain the functions of Adobe Illustrator.
Learners will be able to describe the principles of basic Illustrator tools.
Learners will be able to demonstrate the process of saving and exporting design files.
Implementation
The project follows a structured approach in developing the MOOC “Creating Images with Recraft.ai and Enhancing with Adobe Illustrator.” The process began with planning and curriculum design, defining course structure and clear learning outcomes. The project team then developed course materials and instructional media, including lessons, videos, infographics, and quizzes.
Subsequently, the course was integrated into the BUU MOOC platform, allowing learners to conveniently access the content anytime and anywhere. The project also incorporates continuous monitoring and evaluation to ensure course quality and relevance, while providing insights for future improvements that meet societal needs.
Impact
This project enables learners to gain accessible knowledge and skills in AI-powered image generation with Recraft.ai and advanced editing with Adobe Illustrator. Participants are equipped to produce high-quality digital media and creative works that can be applied in education, research, business, and the creative industries.
The initiative also helps modernize the digital skills of students and staff, aligning them with the demands of the digital economy and labor market. In addition, it promotes lifelong learning, extends digital literacy to the wider public, and reinforces the university’s position as a leader in educational innovation.
