Artificial Intelligence (AI) plays a pivotal role in advancing instructional methodologies and maximising operational efficiency, particularly in managing and synthesising large volumes of complex documentation. NotebookLM is a grounded AI tool that analyses, summarises, and synthesises information from user-curated source materials. It enables users to quickly identify core concepts, connect disparate data points, and master complex content. In educational settings, it helps instructors prepare lessons, summarise content, and design instruction, while enhancing student research and independent inquiry. In professional environments, it streamlines document review, data analysis, and institutional knowledge management. To support these capabilities, Burapha University developed this dedicated online course to deliver step-by-step, context-driven training, empowering learners to reduce workload, boost productivity, and cultivate essential lifelong digital competencies.
Project Coordinator: Ms. Yuwathida Yaninthon
Objectives:
- To develop a high-quality online course on leveraging NotebookLM for instructional design, learning enhancement, and workplace workflows.
- To build foundational and advanced skills in utilising NotebookLM to summarise, analyse, synthesise, and manage multi-source information.
- To enable learners to apply NotebookLM effectively across lesson preparation, self-directed research, study workflows, and professional tasks.
- To promote responsible AI integration to optimise performance, save time, and advance knowledge management.
- To foster digital literacy and support accessible lifelong learning in alignment with emerging technological trends.
Program Activities:
The project began with an extensive review and needs analysis of NotebookLM use cases across academic and administrative contexts to establish clear learning objectives, content scopes, and a self-paced curriculum structure. The pedagogical framework spans fundamental system navigation to practical, real-world case applications. We developed detailed video scripts, storyboards, supplementary digital assets, and formative assessment quizzes. Following high-definition video recording and multimedia post-production, the content underwent comprehensive quality reviews to ensure accuracy, pedagogical alignment, and contemporary relevance. The course was then integrated into the university’s online learning management system with defined passing criteria, followed by rigorous user-acceptance testing and pilot runs before official rollout. Ongoing learner feedback and progress metrics are gathered continuously to inform iterative curriculum updates.
Expected Outcomes (Impacts):
- Democratized Knowledge & Practical AI Mastery: Broadened open access to specialised training on NotebookLM, enabling users to independently analyse, synthesise, and process complex source materials with greater precision and speed.
- Instructional & Academic Enhancement: Streamlined curriculum planning, literature reviews, and instructional material development for educators and students alike.
- Workplace Efficiency & Knowledge Management: Optimised administrative and analytical workflows by accelerating document synthesis and fostering data-driven collaboration across professional roles.
- Critical AI Literacy & Lifelong Learning: Equipped learners with the discernment to critically evaluate, cross-check, and verify AI-generated insights against primary sources, promoting responsible digital adoption and sustainable lifelong learning.
Date of Implementation: Fiscal Year 2026
