Artificial Intelligence (AI) plays a pivotal role in transforming digital media creation and boosting operational productivity. While Canva has integrated sophisticated AI-driven tools that streamline graphic design and content workflows, many students, university personnel, and the general public still lack the practical skills to leverage these features effectively. In response, Burapha University developed this open-access Massive Open Online Course (MOOC). The initiative fosters lifelong learning, enhances essential digital competencies, and promotes the productive, responsible use of AI tools in alignment with United Nations Sustainable Development Goal 4 (SDG 4: Quality Education).

Objectives:
- To develop and launch a high-quality, accessible MOOC titled “Canva AI: Smart Design, Smart Work – Professional Creativity in the AI Era.”
- To cultivate lifelong learning by providing university staff, students, and the general public with equal opportunities to upskill in Canva AI and digital design.
- To strengthen visual communication, graphic design, and practical AI application skills for greater workplace efficiency in the digital age.
- To leverage digital technologies in elevating learner capabilities and advancing educational quality in line with SDG 4 (Quality Education).
Program Activities:
The project began with an in-depth analysis of emerging AI trends and practical Canva use cases to design an industry-relevant curriculum structure. The team produced and deployed high-definition instructional videos, comprehensive learning materials, and assessment modules on the BUU MOOC platform for self-paced, ubiquitous learning. The project team actively promotes the course, monitors participant engagement, and gathers learner feedback to refine and update the instructional content continuously.
Expected Outcomes (Impacts):
- Universal Access to Digital Upskilling: Provided students, university staff, and lifelong learners with flexible, on-demand access to modern digital design and AI tools via the BUU MOOC platform.
- Enhanced Productivity & Creativity: Empowered learners to produce professional visual assets efficiently, significantly reducing content production time and streamlining daily academic and professional workflows.
- Support for SDG 4 (Quality Education): Advanced inclusive, equitable lifelong learning opportunities and bridged the digital divide through high-quality, open online education.
