This operational workshop stems from a strategic need to empower researchers to translate their academic findings into tangible commercial applications seamlessly.

Objectives:
- To equip researchers with comprehensive knowledge in Intellectual Property (IP) Management and the strategic skills required for “Preparing Research for Industry Pitches.”
- To empower researchers to successfully and concretely extend their academic discoveries into viable, real-world commercial applications.
- To foster strong, actionable collaborations with the industrial sector to maximise the practical utilisation of research outcomes.
Program Activities:
The Faculty of Engineering at Burapha University hosted the workshop “Elevating Engineering Research to Commercial Value and Industrial Collaboration” at Room 802, 8th Floor, Kasem Chatikavanij Building.
The program officially commenced on May 19, 2026, with welcoming remarks by Asst. Prof. Dr Nayot Kurukitkoson, Dean of the Faculty of Engineering, saw enthusiastic participation from faculty members and researchers.
- Day 1 (May 19): The sessions focused heavily on “IP Management & Utilisation Pathways” and “Preparing Research for Industry Pitches.” Through engaging lectures and practical workshops, participants learned how to strategically transition their work into the commercial sphere and forge future industry alliances.
- Days 2 & 3 (May 20 & 27): The program advanced into specialised topics, including technology trend analysis, patent landscaping, and technology transfer negotiations. A major highlight was a simulated IP negotiation workshop that provided researchers with invaluable hands-on experience.
Ultimately, this comprehensive curriculum was designed to elevate the faculty’s research capabilities to sustainably address the nation’s pressing industrial and economic development needs.

- Mastery of IP Commercialisation: Faculty members and researchers gained a profound understanding of IP Management and Utilisation Pathways. They are now fully equipped to deliver compelling industry pitches, effectively bridging the critical gap between laboratory research and commercial markets.
