Project Coordinator: Assoc. Prof. Dr Thanongsak Imjai (Principal Investigator and Moderator)
Objectives:
- To transfer comprehensive knowledge on Ultra-High Performance Concrete (UHPC)—a globally recognised advanced material—covering material innovations, structural engineering applications, and future research trajectories.
- To establish and expand high-impact international networks for academic and research collaboration.
Program Activities:
On Monday, May 18, 2026, the Advanced Composites Research Center (ACRC), in collaboration with the Department of Civil Engineering at Burapha University, hosted a Special Talk titled “Ultra-High Performance Concrete: Innovations, Applications, and Future Research.”
The event, held in the Department of Civil Engineering’s conference room, was attended by Dr Yanfei Che, a distinguished researcher and expert in advanced construction materials from the People’s Republic of China, who served as the keynote speaker. Assoc expertly moderated the session. Prof. Dr Thanongsak Imjai.
During the engaging lecture, participants explored the intricacies of UHPC, which is highly sought after in the global construction industry. The comprehensive talk covered material innovations, practical engineering applications, and future research trends, providing immense value to faculty members, researchers, students, and enthusiasts of modern construction and advanced structural engineering.
Furthermore, this event marks a significant milestone in broadening international collaborations between Burapha University and global research entities. Guided by Assoc. Prof. Dr Thanongsak Imjai, this partnership aims to propel ongoing advancements in composite materials and high-performance concrete, ultimately translating cutting-edge academic innovations into real-world industrial and societal applications.
Expected Outcomes (Impacts):
- Expanded Knowledge Base: Faculty, researchers, and students gained profound insights into UHPC innovations. They comprehensively explored material properties, practical applications, real-world limitations, and future research directions, significantly boosting the faculty’s intellectual capital in modern construction materials.
- Robust Global Networks: The event successfully solidified international collaborative ties between Burapha University and overseas research institutions. This continuous partnership acts as a catalyst for advanced research in composite and high-performance materials.
- Driving Sustainable Infrastructure: The initiative actively promotes the translation of modern construction innovations into practical industrial use. By enabling the design of high-efficiency infrastructure with extended lifespans and drastically reduced maintenance costs, the project directly contributes to Thailand’s long-term sustainable development goals.
