The Faculty of Public Health, Burapha University, proudly served as a co-host of The 18th International Conference on Science, Technology and Innovation for Sustainable Well-Being (STISWB 2026), held from 14–17 June 2026 in Ibaraki and Tokyo, Japan. The conference was organised by the Heat Pipe and Heat System Association, Thailand, in collaboration with a network of higher education institutions, including the Faculty of Public Health, Burapha University, which contributed as a co-host in advancing this international academic platform. Representing the Faculty of Public Health and its academic collaboration network, Associate Professor Dr Kowit Suwanhong, Dean of the Faculty of Public Health, Burapha University, participated in the conference and presented a research paper entitled “Valorisation of Condom Manufacturing Waste into Circular Economy Product: Shock-Absorbing Rubber Jigsaw Floor Mats via Industrial Symbiosis.” The study focuses on transforming waste generated by condom manufacturing into value-added shock-absorbing rubber jigsaw floor mats. The research is grounded in the principles of the circular economy and promotes efficient utilisation of industrial resources through industrial symbiosis.

Objectives:
The participation aimed to disseminate the Faculty’s research achievements and innovations to the international academic community, strengthen collaborations among universities, industrial partners, and overseas networks, and promote applied research with practical benefits. The presented research highlights innovative approaches to waste reduction, resource valorisation, and sustainable product development, aligning with global sustainable development goals and circular economy practices.
Program Activities:
The conference featured keynote speeches, research presentations, and knowledge-sharing sessions among researchers, academics, and experts from various countries. In addition, academic and cultural activities were organised to foster international cooperation and strengthen global research networks. In recognition of its academic excellence, innovative concept, and strong potential for practical industrial applications, the research paper co-presented by the Dean of the Faculty of Public Health at Burapha University was honoured with the Best Paper Award. This achievement reflects the high quality of the Faculty’s research and reinforces Burapha University’s commitment to advancing impactful research, innovation, and sustainable development on the international stage.
Expected Outcomes (Impacts):
The research has generated significant outcomes and impacts for both the Faculty of Public Health and Burapha University by enhancing academic reputation, strengthening collaborations with industrial partners, promoting research that supports the circular economy, and advancing knowledge to develop innovations that benefit society. The project also contributes to achieving several United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). It supports SDG 9: Industry, Innovation and Infrastructure by transforming industrial waste into innovative products that enhance safety and quality of life. It contributes to SDG 12: Responsible Consumption and Production by reducing waste, increasing resource value, and promoting circular economy practices. Furthermore, the project advances SDG 17: Partnerships for the Goals, as it is the result of collaborative efforts among the university, the industrial sector, and international academic networks. These achievements demonstrate the Faculty’s commitment to creating impactful research and innovation that address global sustainability challenges while generating tangible benefits for society.
