Stories from the Frontline and the Preservation of National Sovereignty

The Faculty of Nursing, Burapha University, organized the project “Stories from the Frontline and the Preservation of National Sovereignty” on 28 January 2026 at Thamrong Bua Sri Auditorium, Burapha University. The event was held as an open public lecture, providing opportunities for students, university personnel, school students from surrounding communities, and the general public to participate.

The program was honored by General Boonsin Padklang, Advisor to the Commander-in-Chief of the Royal Thai Army and former Commander of the 2nd Army Area, who delivered a special lecture sharing firsthand experiences from frontline operations. His talk offered valuable insights into national security, the historical and security-related role of the Monarchy, and the collective responsibilities of all sectors in safeguarding national sovereignty.

The event attracted more than 1,400 participants, led by Associate Professor Dr. Pornchai Jullamate, Dean of the Faculty of Nursing, together with Burapha University executives, faculty members, staff, students, school students, and members of the public. On this occasion, Associate Professor Chao Maneewong, former President of Burapha University, represented the University in presenting a souvenir to the distinguished speaker as a gesture of appreciation and remembrance.

This special lecture raised public awareness of the importance of protecting national sovereignty through powerful lessons and values drawn from real experiences on the “frontline,” reflecting sacrifice, resilience, and cooperation among all sectors in defending the nation. It also fostered an appropriate sense of patriotism and strengthened participants’ understanding of their roles and responsibilities as socially responsible citizens. The activity aligns with the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), particularly SDG 4: Quality Education, by promoting inclusive, lifelong learning through an open learning space accessible to all; SDG 16: Peace, Justice and Strong Institutions, by enhancing awareness of peace, stability, and national security; and SDG 17: Partnerships for the Goals, by encouraging collaboration between the university, communities, and the public to collectively sustain national stability and social harmony. Through this initiative, the Faculty of Nursing, Burapha University, reaffirmed its role in harnessing education as a key driver to inspire dedication, service to the nation, and sustainable development for Thai society
