The growth of the smart industry and the digital economy is increasing demand for professionals skilled in IoT, digital technologies, and the integration of automation—particularly in Thailand’s Eastern region, a major national industrial base. Meeting this demand requires strong collaboration between universities and professional networks.
The Faculty of Engineering, Burapha University, established an academic collaboration with the Thai IoT Association to integrate academic knowledge, research, and real-world industrial experience into student learning through short training programs, internships, cooperative education, and innovation development using IoT foundations. This partnership strengthens students’ job-readiness and competitiveness while supporting regional industrial and economic development through sustainable knowledge and technology transfer.

Objectives:

Program Activities:
The project is implemented through an MOU between Burapha University and the Thai IoT Association. Key actions include joint development of short training courses in IoT, support for internships and cooperative education through the association’s member network, and use of EEC Automation Park as a hub for training, showcasing, and innovation development—alongside collaboration in research, innovation, and community academic services.
Expected Outcomes (Impacts):
The collaboration strengthens student and staff capacity in IoT and digital technologies in tangible ways. Students learn directly from industry experts and gain real experience through internships and cooperative education—improving readiness for brilliant industry careers. The university expands professional and academic networks, reinforcing its role as a regional center for workforce and innovation development in the Eastern region. Overall, the partnership contributes to sustainable national economic and industrial development by balancing social, financial, and innovation priorities.
