Student Selection and Capacity Building for International Study in Engineering under the 3+1+2 Program (Study in Taiwan)

Student Selection and Capacity Building for International Study in Engineering under the 3+1+2 Program (Study in Taiwan)

The semiconductor industry is a strategic high-technology sector critical to national economic and industrial development. To strengthen Thailand’s future workforce, the Faculty of Engineering at Burapha University developed the 3+1+2 Program in collaboration with Lunghwa University of Science and Technology (Taiwan).
The program prepares students with specialised knowledge, professional skills, and international exposure—supporting industry demand for high-quality talent while enhancing engineering education to meet global standards and competitiveness.

Project Coordinator: Academic Affairs Division, Faculty of Engineering, Burapha University

Objectives:

  • To develop students’ competency in semiconductor technology aligned with international standards
  • To expand opportunities for postgraduate study abroad
  • To strengthen Chinese language skills and cross-cultural learning experience
  • To connect engineering education with high-tech industry needs
  • To build international academic and industry collaboration networks

Program Activities:

The Faculty of Engineering promoted the program and invited eligible students to apply. Selection interviews were conducted in collaboration with partner institutions and leading Taiwanese companies, including Zhen Ding Technology Group and Unimicron Technology Corp. Successful candidates were prepared for further study in Semiconductor Technology, with academic, language, and overseas study readiness support.

Expected Outcomes (Impacts):

The program delivers clear, positive outcomes for education quality and student development. Participants gain specialised semiconductor knowledge, enhanced Chinese language capability, and an international learning experience—strengthening employability in high-tech industries. The initiative also deepens strategic collaboration between Burapha University and international academic and industrial partners, reinforcing the university’s role in developing high-quality talent for sustainable economic and industrial growth.

Date of Implementation: October 14–15, 2025
