Thailand’s industrial sector is facing intensifying challenges in global competitiveness, rapid technological change, and the urgent need to reduce greenhouse gas emissions in line with sustainable development. In response, the Faculty of Engineering, Burapha University—through EEC Automation Park—partnered with Mitsubishi Electric Factory Automation (Thailand) Co., Ltd. to organise “Automating the World Day: Mitsubishi Electric Cup Automation Thailand 2025.”
The program provides a national platform for students to strengthen automation engineering skills, develop green industrial innovation, and build a future-ready workforce aligned with the needs of the Eastern Economic Corridor (EEC) and Thailand’s long-term industrial transformation.
Project Coordinator: EEC Automation Park
Objectives:
- To develop youth and students’ knowledge and skills in automation, digital technology, and sustainable industrial innovation.
- To promote engineering solutions that reduce energy consumption and carbon emissions in industry.
- To build partnerships among academia, industry, and international platforms.
- To prepare a high-quality workforce for future industries.
Program Activities:
The project was delivered through a national automation design and development competition using Mitsubishi Electric technologies, supported by practical workshops to build hands-on skills before the final round. The event featured academic seminars on decarbonization and innovative energy solutions, final pitching presentations, partner technology showcases, and knowledge exchange among experts, students, and industry representatives.
Expected Outcomes (Impacts):
The project produced tangible capacity-building outcomes in automation engineering, digital technology, and sustainable innovation. Participants strengthened their ability to apply Digital Twins, AI, PLCs, SCADA systems, and energy management systems to improve industrial efficiency and reduce greenhouse gas emissions.
It also generated prototype solutions with strong potential for real-world adoption, expanded networks between universities, industry, and international partners, enhanced Thailand’s industrial competitiveness, and supported sustainable socio-economic development in the long term.
Date of Implementation:
- Workshops: July 29 – August 1, 2025
- Main Competition & Activities: October 9 – 10, 2025
