Preparatory Training Program for the Theoretical Examination for Attorney-at-Law License, Class 67

This project is conducted under the Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) between Burapha University and the Lawyers Council of Thailand under the Royal Patronage to enhance legal professional competencies and readiness for the theoretical attorney-at-law examination. It targets students, graduates, and interested individuals holding a Bachelor’s or Associate Degree in Law from Burapha University and other institutions. The program responds to the crucial role of the legal profession in upholding justice, rights, and the rule of law, particularly in supporting development within the Eastern Economic Corridor (EEC). It provides systematic review of key legal subjects, including civil and criminal procedure, law of evidence, and professional ethics. Emphasis is placed on practical workshops in drafting legal documents essential for legal practice and examination success. The project also functions as an academic outreach initiative promoting lifelong learning and professional upskilling. Through collaboration between academic and professional legal institutions, it strengthens institutional networks and good governance. Overall, the project aligns with the Sustainable Development Goals, especially SDG 16: Peace, Justice and Strong Institutions.

The objectives of this project are as follows:

1.To enable participants to review and reinforce essential legal knowledge, including Civil Procedure Law, Criminal Procedure Law, Law of Evidence, and professional ethics of lawyers, in preparation for the theoretical attorney-at-law examination.

2.To enhance participants’ practical legal skills through hands-on training in drafting legal documents, such as complaints, answers, and legal petitions.

3.To develop the professional capacity and confidence of law graduates and associate degree holders by equipping them with necessary legal knowledge and practical skills prior to entering the attorney-at-law examination.

4.To provide academic services to society by supporting law graduates and interested individuals from Burapha University and other institutions, thereby preparing a new generation of legal professionals for the Eastern Economic Corridor (EEC) in alignment with Sustainable Development Goal 16: Peace, Justice and Strong Institutions, and fostering collaborative networks between Burapha University and the Lawyers Council of Thailand under the Royal Patronage.

The project is conducted in the form of lectures combined with practical training, focusing on both theoretical legal knowledge and systematic skill development. Participants receive instruction from qualified and experienced legal professionals. The program includes hands-on workshops on drafting and analyzing legal documents. This approach promotes participatory learning and practical application of knowledge. It prepares participants with the knowledge, skills, and confidence required for the attorney-at-law examination and professional legal practice.

The expected impacts of this project are both quantitative and qualitative. Approximately 200 participants will benefit from enhanced legal knowledge and practical skills relevant to the attorney-at-law examination and professional practice. Participants will demonstrate improved understanding of procedural laws, legal ethics, and evidentiary principles, as well as stronger competence in drafting legal documents. The project contributes to human capital development by strengthening professional skills, ethical awareness, and legal reasoning among aspiring lawyers. Knowledge and skills gained can be applied to examination preparation, professional practice, and future career development. In the long term, the project supports the production of competent and ethical legal professionals who uphold justice and public trust. Additionally, it promotes access to legal knowledge, lifelong learning, and institutional collaboration in alignment with SDG 16.
