The UKPSF workshop stems from a strong commitment to elevating faculty members’ pedagogical capabilities to meet the global standards set by the UK Professional Standards Framework (UKPSF).
The core significance of this initiative lies in preparing educators to achieve internationally recognised professional fellowships. By doing so, the project actively enhances educational quality, modernises curriculum design, and transforms teaching methodologies to align with rapidly changing global trends. Ultimately, this strengthens the international competitiveness and academic standing of Thai educational institutions.

Objectives:
- To enhance faculty members’ pedagogical and teaching capabilities in strict alignment with the global UK Professional Standards Framework (UKPSF).
- To systematically prepare educators to apply for and achieve internationally recognised professional teaching fellowships.
- To elevate overall educational quality by modernising curriculum design and teaching methodologies to respond effectively to global shifts.
Program Activities:
On April 27, 2026, the Faculty of Engineering at Burapha University hosted the operational workshop “Developing Teaching and Learning through UKPSF (Pre-UKPSF Workshop 2026)” in Room M802. The event saw enthusiastic participation from faculty members eager to enhance their teaching competencies and prepare for UKPSF fellowships.
Asst. Prof. Dr Nayot Kurukitkoson, Dean of the Faculty of Engineering, delivered the welcoming remarks and officially opened the project. His active participation throughout the workshop underscored the faculty administration’s strong commitment to driving educational excellence and fostering world-class educators.
The workshop featured four distinguished experts in education and professional development from Walailak University: Assoc. Prof. Dr Montian Setkit (Senior Fellow HEA), Asst. Prof. Dr Kamon Thinsurat (Senior Fellow HEA), Asst. Prof. Dr Chirawat Wattanapanich (Fellow HEA) and Assoc. Prof. Dr Wipawee Dechapanya (Fellow HEA). Assoc. Prof. Dr Thanongsak Imjai (Senior Fellow, HEA) from Burapha University served as the moderator, seamlessly bridging insights and experiences across the sessions.
The comprehensive curriculum included an introduction to the UKPSF framework, a comparative analysis with the Thai PSF, teaching development strategies, and guidelines for creating high-quality Teaching Portfolios. It also covered alignment with the Thai Qualifications Framework (TQF) and an in-depth dimensional analysis of UKPSF 2023 using specific engineering case studies, all reinforced by hands-on practical activities.
Expected Outcomes (Impacts):
- Comprehensive UKPSF Mastery: Faculty members gained a profound understanding of the global UKPSF framework and can now effectively apply these standards to their own teaching. This includes mastering the comparative analysis of UKPSF and Thai PSF, crafting high-quality Teaching Portfolios, and mapping professional development dimensions.
- Global Fellowship Readiness: Educators are now systematically prepared to apply for internationally recognised fellowships, significantly enhancing their academic standing and credibility on a global scale.
