EEC Automation Park Visit and Engineering Workshop for Students from Phan Thong School, Chonburi

This initiative to host an educational visit to the EEC Automation Park and conduct hands-on engineering workshops was driven by a commitment to inspire and create educational opportunities for high school students in Chonburi Province. The project emphasises the vital importance of promoting Science, Technology, and Engineering education at the pre-university level. By doing so, it aims to prepare youth to become the future driving force of national and industrial development, directly addressing the growing demand for skilled engineering professionals within the Eastern Economic Corridor (EEC).

Project Coordinator: Faculty of Engineering, Burapha University

Objectives:

  • To inspire students and cultivate a positive attitude towards engineering education and future careers.
  • To provide foundational knowledge in various engineering disciplines, automation technologies, robotics, and modern industrial innovations.
  • To enhance critical analytical thinking, systematic problem-solving, and collaborative teamwork skills through the practical application of the Engineering Design Process.

Program Activities:

On Thursday, June 12, 2026, the Faculty of Engineering at Burapha University warmly welcomed a delegation of 88 teachers and students from Phan Thong School in Chonburi for an immersive educational experience. To maximise learning outcomes, the activities were tailored into two groups based on grade levels:

  • Technology & Innovation Tour: A group of 42 Grade 10 (Mathayom 4) students explored the EEC Automation Park. They learned about advanced automation systems, robotics, and modern industrial innovations. The students also attended an insightful briefing on how the region is developing its technological and engineering workforce to meet the demands of the EEC.
  • Hands-on Engineering Workshop: A group of 38 Grade 11 (Mathayom 5) students participated in an interactive engineering workshop. By engaging in hands-on activities centred on the Engineering Design Process, the students actively practised analytical thinking, systematic problem-solving, and teamwork.

These activities were seamlessly integrated into Phan Thong School’s pre-engineering curriculum. The experience was designed to ignite a passion for engineering, broaden students’ understanding of the field, and provide invaluable practical insights to guide their future academic and career decisions.

Expected Outcomes (Impacts):

  • Direct Exposure to Modern Technology: 88 participants gained firsthand experience with advanced engineering and state-of-the-art technologies at the EEC Automation Park, bridging the gap between classroom theory and real-world industrial applications.
  • Fostering Inspiration and Career Vision: Grade 10 students developed a strong, positive attitude toward engineering. By exploring various disciplines and understanding the EEC’s workforce needs, they gained clear, actionable insights for their future higher education choices.
  • Cultivating Essential Future Skills: Grade 11 students successfully honed their critical thinking, systematic problem-solving, and collaborative abilities through hands-on practice. These are essential soft and hard skills for the modern workplace.
  • Preparing the Future Workforce: By laying a strong educational foundation, the project successfully prepares these students for higher education and empowers them to become a vital part of Thailand’s future industrial workforce, directly contributing to sustainable national development.
