Burapha University, through its Technology Clinic under the Division of Research Administration and Innovation, organized the project “Enhancing Safe Mak Pid (Citrus hystrix var.) Production Towards GAP Certification for Improved Quality and Consumer Confidence” on 23 May 2026 at the Chanthaburi Provincial Agriculture Office. Implemented under the Building Community Enterprise (BCE) platform, one of the operational mechanisms of the Innovation and Community Partnership (ICP) framework, the project aimed to strengthen farmers’ knowledge and skills in producing Mak Pid in accordance with Good Agricultural Practices (GAP) standards.
The program provided participants with practical training on orchard management, production planning, GAP requirements, and certification processes. Experts from Burapha University and the Chanthaburi Provincial Agriculture Office shared technical knowledge and best practices to help farmers improve product quality, food safety, and production efficiency. By supporting local producers in achieving recognized agricultural standards, the project contributes to enhancing consumer confidence, increasing market opportunities, and strengthening the economic resilience of community enterprises.
This initiative aligns with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), particularly SDG 2: Zero Hunger, through the promotion of sustainable and safe agricultural production systems; SDG 8: Decent Work and Economic Growth, by creating opportunities for farmers to increase income and access higher-value markets; and SDG 12: Responsible Consumption and Production, by encouraging good agricultural practices that ensure food safety, efficient resource management, and sustainable production. Through knowledge transfer and community engagement, Burapha University continues to support local agricultural development and foster long-term sustainability in Thailand’s farming communities.
