This project was organized to transfer knowledge and innovation from Burapha University to local communities and community enterprises. It focuses on developing a sunscreen product containing sea grape extract while promoting the practical use of intellectual property. The project supports local product value creation, branding, income generation, and the promotion of local identity. It also reflects the university’s role in applying science, research, and innovation to strengthen community and grassroots business development in a sustainable way.
The objectives of the project are to transfer knowledge on product development and intellectual property protection to the community, encourage the practical use of university intellectual property, increase the value of local products, support brand development, create income opportunities, and promote sustainable local identity through innovation.
The project was conducted at Chanthaburi Community Enterprise, Laem Sing District, Chanthaburi Province. The activity included lectures by academic staff from the Faculty of Allied Health Sciences on the pharmacological properties of algae, product production methods, and simple product development. Participants also joined a hands-on workshop on developing sea grape cream products, guided by expert trainers from the university.
The project helped strengthen the knowledge and practical skills of community members in developing health-related products from sea grape extract. It supported the community in applying intellectual property to real products, increasing product value, building local brands, and creating potential income. It also enhanced collaboration between the university, community, and local business sector, contributing to sustainable economic and social development at the local level.
