Academic and Industry Collaboration Program between the Faculty of Engineering, Burapha University and UACJ (Thailand) Co., Ltd.

Academic and Industry Collaboration Program between the Faculty of Engineering, Burapha University and UACJ (Thailand) Co., Ltd.

This program was established between the Faculty of Engineering at Burapha University and UACJ (Thailand) Co., Ltd., a major aluminium producer in Thailand. It responds to the evolving needs of modern industry for highly skilled engineers with real-world experience and understanding of advanced industrial technologies—especially in the Eastern Economic Corridor (EEC).
The collaboration integrates education, research, and academic services with industrial practice, strengthening students, faculty, and staff capabilities while supporting sustainable industrial development.

Project Coordinator: Faculty of Engineering, Burapha University

Objectives:

  • To develop engineering talent with knowledge, skills, and experience aligned with industry needs
  • To promote integrated learning through cooperative education and professional internships
  • To strengthen collaboration in skills development, technology, and innovation
  • To expand academic–industry networks within the EEC
  • To enhance the quality and sustainability of engineering graduate production

Program Activities:

The partnership operates under an MOU defining a shared working framework. Key activities include cooperative education and internships, joint skills development, innovation events and competitions related to aluminium technologies, and continuous knowledge exchange and real industrial experience—expanding the collaboration network in the EEC over time.

Expected Outcomes (Impacts):

The program produces concrete benefits for the university, industry, and society. Students gain hands-on learning opportunities, relevant skills, and stronger readiness for employment. Faculty members integrate industry knowledge and experience into teaching and research. The industry benefits from a stronger talent pipeline and enhanced innovation potential. The collaboration also strengthens regional networks in the EEC and supports sustainable industrial growth—aligning firmly with SDG 17 (Partnerships for the Goals).
