World Diabetes Day 2025: Strategic Healthcare Initiatives

Burapha University Hospital, Faculty of Medicine, Commemorates World Diabetes Day 2025

under the Theme “Diabetes and the Workplace”

to Advance Sustainable Occupational Health and Well-being.

The Faculty of Medicine at Burapha University Hospital continues to strengthen its commitment to proactive healthcare standards. On Friday, November 7, 2025, the Medical Outpatient Department, in collaboration with the Diabetes Club, organized a commemorative campaign for World Diabetes Day 2025 at the Medical Research Building, Faculty of Medicine, Burapha University.
The opening ceremony was presided over by Dr. Aomsub Pikulnee, Director of Burapha University Hospital, who delivered the keynote address. Asst. Prof. Pechngam Chaivanit, a specialist in Endocrinology and Metabolism, presented the project’s objectives. This year’s initiative was centered on the theme “Diabetes and the Workplace,” strategically designed to empower working-age diabetic patients with effective self-management skills and to foster institutional collaboration and peer support to ensure a sustainable quality of life.

The event’s program included a comprehensive academic seminar on workplace diabetes management, an exhibition showcasing advanced diabetes therapeutic innovations, and multidisciplinary consultations regarding medical nutrition therapy and the rational use of medicines. Furthermore, the hospital provided diagnostic screening services to a cohort of 100 participants.
This initiative serves as a pivotal movement in alignment with Sustainable Development Goal 3 (SDG 3): Good Health and Well-being. By prioritizing the management of Non-Communicable Diseases (NCDs)—specifically diabetes—within the workforce, the hospital aims to mitigate premature mortality rates and enhance national productivity. The program emphasizes equitable healthcare access and the cultivation of health-conducive environments, enabling patients to maintain optimal glycemic control within professional settings.

Burapha University Hospital, Faculty of Medicine, remains dedicated to its mission as a premier medical institution. Through the continuous advancement of clinical knowledge and service excellence, the hospital strives to serve as a cornerstone for health promotion and to deliver sustainable well-being for students, personnel, and the broader community.
