This project serves as a crucial platform for the Faculty of Sports Science, Burapha University, to fulfill its academic service mission by applying specialized knowledge and expertise in real-world professional settings. The activities are designed to support the effective management of major international sporting events, promoting public health and well-being (SDG 3). Furthermore, the project directly addresses the university’s goal of fostering desirable graduate characteristics, such as professionalism, leadership, teamwork, and social responsibility, by providing students with essential practical experience and opportunity for lifelong learning (SDG 4). It also enhances the university’s reputation and generates revenue through external collaboration.

The aims:

1. To provide expert academic service and technical staff support to the event organizer, MICE and Communication Co., Ltd., for the successful operation of the Bangsaen Marathon Series.

2. To utilize and apply specialized knowledge in Sports Science, including event management and data collection methodology, to real-world community service.

3. To develop professional skills, leadership abilities, and a sense of social responsibility among students through hands-on practice in a large-scale event environment.

The project was executed through two main services across two major events (Bangsaen 42 and Bangsaen 21). Prior to each event, workshops and briefings were conducted to prepare the deployed staff and students. For the Bangsaen 42 event, students collected a target of 2,000 questionnaires from participants, followed by data processing and analysis, providing valuable insights to the service recipient. Simultaneously, for both Bangsaen 42 and Bangsaen 21, staff and students were deployed to perform various duties, including first aid/medical support and general race management assistance, ensuring the safety and smooth operation of the races.
