Department of Internal Medicine, Faculty of Medicine, Burapha University, in collaboration with the Faculty of Nursing, organized “World Heart Day” to raise awareness for a healthier heart
The Department of Internal Medicine, Faculty of Medicine, Burapha University, in collaboration with the Faculty of Nursing, Burapha University, organized the “World Heart Day” event on Monday, September 29, 2025, at the 1st-floor lobby of the Medical Research Building, Burapha University Hospital.
The opening ceremony was honored by Dr. Aomsap Pikulnee, Director of Burapha University Hospital, who presided over the event.
The objective of this event was to raise public awareness about the dangers of heart and vascular diseases—one of the leading causes of death worldwide—and to promote understanding of early warning signs that are often overlooked. The event also aimed to educate the public on modern, evidence-based methods for the prevention and treatment of coronary artery disease.
A variety of engaging activities were featured throughout the event, including:
- Special Facebook Live Talk “Don’t Miss a Beat: Live Talk for a Healthy Heart”, presented by a team of expert physicians led by Dr. Sukrit Kuwattanathienchai from the Department of Internal Medicine, Faculty of Medicine, Burapha University.
- Free basic health check-up booth under the theme “Know Early, Act Fast: Prevent Heart Disease”, conducted by nursing students from the Faculty of Nursing, Burapha University.
This successful collaboration exemplified the power of a multidisciplinary team from the Faculty of Medicine, Burapha University Hospital, and the Faculty of Nursing, working together with a shared commitment to promote heart health. Under the theme “Don’t Miss a Beat”, the event encouraged participants to take proactive steps in caring for their hearts through informative talks, risk assessments, and personalized health consultations.
Participants also received valuable guidance on maintaining heart health through regular exercise, smoking cessation, blood pressure and cholesterol control, diabetes management, infection prevention, and immunization to strengthen the body’s defenses—helping to build long-term cardiovascular well-being.
The “World Heart Day” event drew great interest from faculty members, students, and the general public. It marked another milestone in the university’s mission to promote health awareness, strengthen community well-being, and foster sustainable health education through interdisciplinary collaboration.
