Continuing the School Lunch Agriculture Project 2025

The Faculty of Agricultural Technology, Burapha University, Sakaeo Campus, in collaboration with Cargill Meats (Thailand) Co., Ltd. and Suranaree University of Technology, has continued the School Lunch Agriculture Project 2025 for the fourth consecutive year. This year, the project has been expanded to 31 primary schools in Nakhon Ratchasima and Saraburi provinces. Between 13–14 and 18–19 August 2025, Asst. Prof. Dr. Quanjai Rupitak and Asst. Prof. Dr. Supreena Srisaikham conducted on-site workshops at the participating schools under the theme “Student Behaviours and Learning Outcomes through Project Activities.” This initiative formed part of the project’s evaluation process, assessing the learning outcomes gained by the schools in order to measure the sustainability and long-term impact of the program in alignment with the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).

The project aims to ensure that children and youth have access to safe and nutritious food, while fostering hands-on learning, responsibility, teamwork, unity, and a positive attitude toward agricultural careers.

The project not only provides nutritional benefits to students in the target areas but also aligns with the Sustainable Development Goals, particularly SDG 2: Zero Hunger, by ensuring that children and youth have consistent access to sufficient, safe, and nutritious food. It also helps to reduce nutritional disparities between urban and rural schools.

In addition, the project plays a vital role in advancing SDG 3: Good Health and Well-being, as access to quality and appropriate food supports students’ physical and cognitive development while reducing the risks of malnutrition and diet-related diseases. Moreover, the hands-on learning activities foster essential life skills in health, self-care, and social responsibility.

These tangible outcomes demonstrate the project’s sustainable impact, highlighting the value of collaboration among universities, the private sector, and schools. Beyond academic learning, the initiative represents a long-term investment in the future of young people and Thai society as a whole.
