The workshop marked a pivotal stage in the project&#8217;s development, shifting from material design and production to real-world evaluation and dissemination. The workshop aimed to introduce the prototype graded reader series to a representative group of educators and gather informed feedback on the materials&#8217; design, levelling, and potential for classroom use. Bringing together 20 educators from junior high schools, high schools, and universities across eight provinces, the event created a structured opportunity for educators to engage directly with the materials. The workshop introduced the materials to this cohort of educators both in physical format and through the project&#8217;s online library at www.one-asia-readers-thailand.com, ahead of the series\u2019 wider release. The workshop also served as a platform for knowledge exchange. Sessions were led by the research team (Dr Suparuthai Sumonwiriya, Dr Phanpaka R. Haworth, Chutipa Kongsombat), the project consultant (Prof. Dr Rob Waring), and a guest speaker from Thammasat University (Asst. Prof. Dr Kittitouch Soontornwipast). Together, the sessions grounded participants in the research evidence behind graded readers, extensive reading, and its practical implications for English language teaching in the Thai English language instruction in Thailand.<\/li><li>To provide participating educators with knowledge and understanding of extensive reading and the use of graded reading materials as a research-based pedagogical approach and the practical applications in the Thai classroom context.<\/li><li>To gather feedback from educators on the design, levelling, and usability of the prototype materials to class=\"elementor-widget-container\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<p><strong>Program Activities:<\/strong><\/p><p>The two-day user workshop was held on 20\u201321 June 2021 at Onpa Hotel &amp; Residence, Bangsaen, Chonburi. On the first day, the research team and Prof. Dr Rob Waring, Executive Board member of the Extensive Reading Foundation and a collaborator on the project, led sessions covering the principles of extensive reading, the concept of becoming an independent reader, an introduction to the One Asia Reader Thai series, and post-reading activities. The second day, led by Asst. Prof. Dr Kittitouch Soontornwipast, focused on practical pedagogy, including integrating graded readers into lesson plans, designing reading-based lessons, and engaging learners of different proficiency levels through varied reading activities. Both days balanced theoretical input with hands-on, classroom-focused practice.<\/p><p><strong>Expected Outcomes (Impacts):<\/strong><\/p><p>The workshop yielded meaningful impact across multiple levels. For participating educators, it built capacity in extensive reading pedagogy and provided direct access to culturally relevant teaching materials applicable across secondary and tertiary classrooms nationwide. For the project, structured feedback collected from 20 educators representing diverse institutional contexts across eight provinces informed the ongoing refinement of the prototype graded readers series, strengthening the quality and relevance of the final materials.
